General Remarks

ASCCANZ is NOT a training-institute. It provides criteria, related to international standards for the professions. (see: About ASCCANZ)

ASCCANZ makes contracts with training institutes who are committing themselves to train their trainees up to ASCCANZ standards. The training is delegated to those training-institutes.

Once a candidate has completes the requirements for full accreditation, s/he will automatically be accredited as ASCCANZ-Supervisor or ASCCANZ-Coach, ASCCANZ- Consultant, ASCCANZ-Learning Supervisor or ASCCANZ-Trainer.
In their advertisement material an accredited member may present him/herself as “Supervisor – ASCCANZ reg” or “Coach – ASCCANZ-reg”. etc

The market / clients will over time learn to appreciate that ASCCANZ registered supervisors, coaches and consultants have excellent professional qualifications, have high ethical standards and can be held accountable.

101 in Supervision, Coaching and Consulting

ASCCANZ has developed an "Introduction to Supervision, Coaching and Consulting" curriculum (a so called "101 course"). This is a 2-4 day course, to be executed by accredited trainers and training institutes.

The course introduces the history, the field and the praxis of supervision, coaching and consulting. It functions both as a course and as an assessment for the participants. Participation in this course is a prerequisite for further training and for membership in ASCCANZ.

history and experiences with supervision
roles and responsibilities
forms of supervision, coaching, consulting
transference and counter transference
coaching and supervision models
ethical conduct
the relationship in coaching and supervision
philosophy of supervision / learning
